LWEA invites you to join public education advocates as we put democracy into action by attending our Education Funding Forum on March 11. Here in Washington State, we can improve our lives and the lives our students for decades to come by making sure that we voice our needs and concerns to our legisltators as they work to construct a education funding plan that will finally meet the McClear Promise.

  • Bring your friends and family - share stories and tell our legislators what our children and schools need.
  • The courts have ruled, the voters have spoken, and the public supports the need for the legislature to find the resources.
  • Our children and schools cannot wait for the legislature to continue with their false promises!
  • The time is now to fully fund public education!

For more information and talking points about the latest versions of the House and Senate Republic funding plans, check out this flyer.

RSVP by contacting the LWEA office by phone (425) 822-3388 or email

LWEA Members have the oppotunity to unite with a common voice to support a great public education system for all of our students! This happens at the local, state, and national level.

LWEA Members began the 2017 Legislative Session by rallying on the steps of the Capitol Building! Our message was clear, Education is a Civil Right for ALL of our Students! It is time for the legislture to fully fund basic education. Our students, schools, and staff can not wait any longer.

We also encourage members to stay in the know by checking out the WEA Our Voice website and signing up for the weekly newsletter updates or text updates about bills that impact students through funding, accountability, and other measures that direct local school districts' actions.
