Our purpose as members of the Lake Washington Education Association is to support, encourage, and promote each other in our efforts to provide quality public education. We are organized to...

• Advocate for all members’ legal, professional, contractual, and human rights.
• Recognize the impact of systemic racism and respond by becoming an anti-racist and bias-aware community.
• Be an integral part of equitable educational decisions with the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) and the Lake Washington School Board.
• Promote and support educators to take ownership and be leaders in creating equitable public education.
• Educate our members on issues of systemic racism, equity, and equitable teaching.
• Promote the professional growth of members.
• Foster increased community support for and involvement in equitable public education.
• Provide timely, transparent communication through multiple platforms between LWEA membership and leadership.
• Develop and utilize Competency Teams to support the purpose and goals of LWEA.
